Kiss Me, Kate
Kiss Me, Kate written by Samuel and Bella Spewack with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, was the first production to win the Tony Award for Best Musical. This show has been produced all over the world including over 1,000 performances on Broadway. Because of the album’s “cultural, artistic, and historical significance to American society and the nation’s audio legacy” the 1949 original cast recording has been inducted into the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry.
Watch as romance, danger, passion, and big egos battle for their time to shine. The story follows the on and offstage drama between Fred Graham, the show’s director, producer, and star, and Lilli Vanessi, his leading lady and ex-wife throughout a production of a musical version of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.
